Hey y’all! We’re an American family living in…you guessed it, the southern United States. Sweet Home Alabama to be precise! We love to have fun, spend time together, and travel both near and far.
We’re fortunate that the Dada’s career includes lots of travel, and that we get to tag along too! Whether road tripping through the southeastern U.S., or spending the summer in Europe, we’re so thankful to be able to show our kids the world. This blog began as a travel journal, but we’re now working to make it more user-friendly for others who also want to travel with their kiddos.
Our Family
The Babe
At just three-and-a-half, the Babe has been to 13 countries and 10 U.S. states. She’s a sweetheart who loves to sing, dance, and twirl. She’s a great travel companion, and her favorite place to go is the beach.
The Bub
This little guy has been to three countries across 3 continents since joining our crew a year-and-a-half ago. He’s the most relaxed, happy little guy who is always busy exploring. His favorite place to be is outside.
The Mama
The voice behind this blog, I keep small humans alive, plan our travels, and document it all with way too many pictures.
I am a classically trained opera singer, but a number of years back, I transitioned to running arts nonprofits. Currently, I’m a PhD student studying public administration and pubic policy, with a concentration in nonprofits and American politics. My goal is to become a university professor, both to share everything I know about running nonprofit organizations, and to have the flexibility to continue traveling as the kids get older!
My heart for teaching is what lead me to create this blog. I want to empower other families to travel with their kids by sharing our experiences and tips we’ve learned over the years. I love the beach, hiking mountains (occasionally in high heels), and exploring places through their food and music.
The Dada
The most experienced traveler in our family, the Dada has traveled all over the world and even lived in Italy for two years (before meeting the Mama…she’s just a little (lot) jealous).
The Dada is a math professor. That means he teaches college students mathematics, and invents new math theories and applications too! He’s way smart, but also funny, loving, and kind. His job takes him to conferences and meetings all over the world, and the rest of us just tag along!
He’s also an amazing photographer. Most of the photos from our travels are taken on the Mama’s iPhone, but if you see a real stunner, odds are it was taken by the Dada with his fancy Canon.
